My Superman

Ask me “What is fear?”
It’s losing my Daddy Dear!
‘I know in my world so wide,
You’ll stand always by my side!’

You all know but just a name,
Or might have heard his fame!
I know, just the man he is!
And his life of war and peace!

Yes, he is just a man;
But my Superman!!
‘I know you’ll help me fly
As far as you can!’

And when I touch those skies,
Beyond all truth and lies;
‘I know you’ll be there to smile,
And feel proud, I flew a mile!’

I remember whose fingers I held,
As a child who laughs and cries!
And on whose shoulders I climbed,
To reach and touch the skies!!

You taught me to be me!
And then rise and fall and see!!
So I can face my fears,
Indeed, like my Daddy Dear!

Yes, you are just a man;
Who does all that you can!
Never have I thanked you; for all I won,
“And you’ll never have to, My Son!!”

Now grown as I might be,
Living my life and free;
I might fly as far as I can!
But you are still My Superman!!
